QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED
Must Have The Following Certifications
Basic firefighter certification from the Texas Commission on Fire Protection AND EMT or Paramedic Certification OR
Paramedic certification OR
Hold certification with a fire or EMS agency in another state that has reciprocity with the State of Texas or IFSAC seal and/or National Registry
Once assigned by the department, you must be able to successfully complete courses, obtain and retain TCFP Basic Fire Certification, EMT, EMT-A, Paramedic, and/or successfully complete our medical director credentialing process.
Valid Texas Class "B" Drivers License with good driving record within one (1) year of employment.
Paramedic certification preferred.
Applicants who will have Paramedic certification test results (DSHS or National Registry) by by 9/19 will be considered.

Salary InformationCurrent starting salary is $71,000.00
Paramedic assignment pay is $400 per month.
PAT Test09/13 and 9/17 both morning sessions. More information will be sent to those that qualify.

Any illegal use in the last 2 years of Marijuana, Hashish, and/or K2/Spice.
Any illegal use in the last 5 years of Heroin, Cocaine, Crack (Cocaine), Crank (Speed), Crystal, Methamphetamine, Amphetamine, PCP / Angel Dust, LSD, Peyote / Mescaline, Tranquilizers, Ecstasy / XTC (Designer Drugs), Lean, Psilocybin / Mushrooms, Talwin / PBZ, Quaaludes, Rohypnol, Inhalants (glue, gas, canned air), Butyl Nitrite (Locker Room Rush), Steroids and/or Soma (Dance, Vegas co*cktail).
A polygraph test will be conducted which will include questions regarding these. Be sure to fill out the polygraph packet to the best of your ability.
