By combining the latest electronic power technology with advanced thermal management technology, Exlar sets the benchmark for performance and size. Tritex II Series actuators integrate anAC powered servo drive,digital position controller,brushless servomotorand roller screw linear actuatorin a compact, sealed package. Now you can precisely control motion and solve all of your application requirements with a single, fully integrated device. Simply connect AC power, I/O and communications, speeding up installation and commissioning time resulting in a lower total cost of ownership when compared with other system solutions.
Dramatically Increase Performance
Tritex II electric actuators are the standard for compact, power dense, servo driven devices. These linear actuators incorporate planetary roller screw designs, resulting in envelope sizes that match hydraulic cylinders and 15X the life of comparable ball screw technologies. Whether you are replacing existing fluid power systems or are looking for extending the life if existing electric solutions, Tritex II products can meet your needs.
Significantly Reduce Required Space and Operating Costs
Since the servo drive and digital positioner are housed in a single, sealed package, space requirements are reduced as the need for a control cabinet is eliminated. Without the need for a control cabinet, you can also eliminate the costs and labor-intensive efforts of long cable runs.
Other Advantages
- IP65S rated for use in harsh environment
- Maximum power, precision, speed and repeatability in a compact package
- Engineered for closed loop servo systems
- 100% duty cycle for hundreds of millions of strokes
- Hall effect incremental or absolute feedback
- Sealed housing for extended life and reduced maintenance
AC LINEAR ACTUATORS: APPLICATIONS & OPERATION
Tritex II linear actuators employ a superior inverted roller screw mechanism for converting rotary motion to highly robust and long-life linear motion. These characteristics enable the Tritex actuator to solve applications that previously required pneumatic or hydraulic cylinders. No additional mechanisms (such as acme or ball screws) are necessary to convert the actuator’s rotary power into linear motion to move the load.
The Tritex II linear actuator can be programmed to follow an analog command signal, making it ideal for controlling multiple devices across factory automation, entertainment, or process control applications.

NOTES:
1. Chrome-plated carbon steel. Threads not chrome-plated.
2. 0.75 lead not available above 12 in stroke.
3. For extended temperature operation consult factory for model number.
4. Limit switch option requires AR option.
5. This option is not sealed and is not suitable for any environment in which contaminants come in contact with actuator and may enter the actuator.
6. N/A with 0.1 in lead
7. Requires customer supplied Ethernet cable through I/O port for Class 1 Division 2 compliance only.
8. Not available with 4 inch stroke.
* Some options are not available with every configuration. For options or specials not listed above contact your local Exlarrepresentative.
L1, L2, L3 = Adjustable External Travel Switch(es)
External travel switches indicate travel to the controller and are adjustable for either the home or end position.*
AR = External Anti-rotate Assembly
This assembly restricts the actuator output rod from rotating when the load is not held by another method. Shorter actuators have a single anti-rotation mechanism; longer lengths have a mechanism on both sides.
RB = Rear Electric Brake
This is a rear, internal holding brake. The rear brake is spring activated and electrically released.
SR = Splined Main Rod
A ball spline shafting main rod with a ball spline nut that replaces the standard front seal and bushing assembly. This rod restricts rotation without the need for an external mechanism. The rod diameter will be the closest metric equivalent to our standard rod sizes. Since this option is NOT sealed, it is not suitable for environments in which contaminants may enter the actuator.
Note: Adding this option affects the overall length and mounting dimensions.

How can we help?
Can the Tritex II linear actuators replace hydraulic cylinders?
Tritex actuators have similar capabilities as a comparably sized hydraulic cylinders but without the cost or maintenance issues. High force, fast speeds, and precise movements make it a superior substitute for hydraulic applications
Does the AC Linear Actuator make an ideal hydraulic replacement?
Tritex actuators have the same capabilities as a hydraulic equivalent but without the cost or maintenance issues. High force, fast speeds, and precise movements make it a superior substitute for hydraulic applications.
Is the Tritex Series an Industry 4.0 IoT actuator?
The Tritex II Series actuators are intelligent actuators incorporating on-board control and communications capabilities, enabling support for distributed control and IIoT architectures
What are the primary benefits of using an electric actuator system over hydraulics?
Electric actuators offer high speed and force, are flexible and easily programmable for a variety of load conditions, have high accuracy and repeatability, are efficient, simple to install, require little maintenance, and are environmentally friendly. By not using a hydraulic system, the user can eliminate oil leaks, reduce pollution, and improve worker safety. Electric actuators are also a non-toxic solution, especially in the food industry
What features does the Tritex II AC Linear Actuator have?
The AC-powered Tritex II actuators contain a 1.5 kW servo amplifier and an on-board motion controller. With standard features such as analog following for position, compound moves, move chaining, and individual force/torque control for each move, the Tritex II can solve many of your motion control challenges.
What temperature can the Tritex II AC Linear Actuator Hold?
The Tritex II with AC power electronics operates with maximum reliability over a broad range of ambient temperatures: -40˚C to +65˚C.
